Privacy
How MV Studio handles your data on this site — in plain English.
Who is responsible
The controller of the data collected on this site is Mário Valentino, who works as MV Studio, in Lisbon, Portugal.
For anything privacy-related: admin@m-v.studio.
Contact requests
When you send a request — in the letter at the end of the home page or inside the chat — we receive your name, email, phone (if you give it), the service, your message and the page you sent it from.
This data is stored in a database (Supabase) and reaches the studio by email (Resend). It is used only to reply to your request and prepare a proposal — never for advertising, and never sold or shared.
The legal basis is your own initiative to contact us and the pre-contractual steps you ask for.
To stop bots from using the form or the chat to abuse the site, each submission goes through an automatic check by Vercel (BotID), which looks at technical signals from the browser — without cookies and without asking you anything.
The chat with MV-XVII
MV-XVII is an artificial intelligence assistant, not a person.
To generate each reply, what you write in the chat is sent to an AI provider — Google (Gemini API) or, as a fallback, Groq. For users in the European Economic Area, Google does not use these messages to train its models.
The studio does not store conversations. The conversation stays only in your browser, in this tab (sessionStorage), and is deleted when you close it. Don't write sensitive data in the chat — to move forward with a project, use the form.
To prevent abuse, your IP address is used briefly to count how many questions you ask per minute (Upstash). That counter deletes itself.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count visits in aggregate, without cookies, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how fast pages load, anonymously and also without cookies.
Google Analytics only runs if you accept it in the consent notice. Until then, and if you decline, it doesn't run. You can change your answer at any time under “Cookies”, at the bottom of the page.
What stays in your browser
In local storage (localStorage) we keep your preferences: theme, sound, reduced motion and your answer to the analytics notice.
In session storage (sessionStorage), which is cleared when you close the tab: whether the intro has played, the chat conversation, and whether the robot has already told you that you can talk to it.
Cookies: if you choose a language other than your browser's, we keep that choice in a technical cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) that is deleted when you close the browser. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga), which we delete if you change your answer to decline.
We don't use advertising cookies.
How long
Contact requests: 24 months after the last contact, unless you become a client — then, as long as the law requires.
Chat conversation: until you close the tab.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to its processing or receive it in a portable format — just write to admin@m-v.studio.
If you think your data was not handled properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the end of the page changes with it.
